A nod is given in return, first stretching his neck and shoulders.
He’d like nothing more than to just lay back and sleep but with
everything regarding the case still fresh on his mind, Elliot knows
he’d end up just laying there, staring up at the ceiling with a number
of thoughts running through his head to try and piece together who
might have had motive to attack Mr. Bullard. He figures if Cassandra
had been so eager to be all over him, he wonders if another john
might’ve gotten a little too protective and jealous of her. After all,
he’s seen what jealousy can do, and it sure as hell ain’t pretty.Only his eyebrow lifts at the dollar bills thrust in his direction. He
doesn’t refuse her - they’ve bought enough coffees and food for
one another that no one bothers to keep track of who owes who
what. Reaching, he leans forward to grab them, and pauses midway
to meet Olivia’s eyes when she mentions it had been a good night.
Elliot smiles; while it hadn’t been his ideal location to spend hours
into the night, at least he hadn’t been on his own. The guise had
been an excellent way to play it, and they’d bounced off one another
so damn naturally that there was no doubt when they had to go
undercover that they did it so well because of it.“It’s not for me, that’s for sure.”
He straightens then after lingering another moment in silence,
undoubtedly slowed down from how tired he actually feels, and
using his momentum, Elliot rises. He’s kicked off his shoes before
and moves over to where they are by the front hall way,
unceremoniously shoving his feet into them. He grabs the hotel key
card off the dresser beneath the wall mounted television, intending to
walk out now, but stops and casts Olivia a glance over his bare shoulder.“What, don’t trust me to know your favorite soda?
Besides, you look pretty comfy over there.”He’s teasing of course, but he waits, money and card key put into
his pants’ pocket where his hands follow. Leaning with his back
against the corner wall, he can’t help but keep an expectant look
in his partner’s direction. Even in casual comfy clothes while exhausted,
she still has a radiance about her that doesn’t go without notice.“ Vending machine’s just down the hall, I think.”
❛ i am pretty comfy. ❜
she hums, letting her head fall back for just a moment, eyes closing briefly
to savor every second before her feet move over the edge of the bed and
she stands. taking a second, arms rise above her head and her back arches,
alerting her body and finally mustering up enough energy to move. as she
makes her way to the door, she passes the pair of heels discarded off to the
side, cursing herself for not bringing another pair of shoes and opting to go
barefoot instead. shes closes the distance between them, fingers slipping
around the handle to swing open the door and she pauses, looking at him over
her shoulder.
❛ and for the record, i do trust you. but who knows?
… i might want to switch it up tonight. ❜
lips spread into a grin as she turns back and heads down the hall. she’s a few
paces ahead of him, but doesn’t slow for him to catch up. instead, she continues
the short walk down the hall and enters the small space where two vending
machines, one for drinks and one for snacks, and an ice machine take up
most of the room. she leans up against the back wall just as he arrives.
and for a moment she just watches him. dressed in a white tank top on the
top half, same clothes as earlier on the bottom, he looked… good. she was
practically gawking at him, but before he could notice she snapped herself
herself out of it and gave a mental slap on the wrist for having stared. they
were partners, nothing more, nothing less. she wouldn’t allow herself to
think about anything but the job, even if it was so tempting.
❛ pick something out for me, lets see if you get it right. ❜
she pushes herself off the wall, stepping towards elliot to change positions and
now lean on the machine. eyes follow his fingers as they push in a bill, and hover
over the various selections. in all honestly, she would settle for anything at this
point. but it was always fun to tease.
